Therapy + Coaching in Victoria, BC
If you've done emotional work but feel stuck translating it into action, or if you're achieving externally but struggling internally—you might need both depth and momentum. This approach combines them.
What You're Experiencing vs. What's Driving It
Maybe you've done therapy and worked through significant issues, but you're still not moving forward in your life.
You understand your patterns but struggle to take action. Or maybe it's the opposite—you're high-functioning and accomplishing goals, but underneath you're dealing with anxiety, insecurity, or a nagging sense that something's missing.
Traditional therapy focuses on healing. Traditional coaching focuses on goals and action. But sometimes you need both.
What this combined approach addresses:
-
Internal blocks that prevent action—the insecurity, fear, or old beliefs that keep you from taking steps toward what you want.
-
Disconnection between insight and behavior—you understand yourself deeply but can't translate that into actual change in your life.
-
Achievement without fulfillment—you're successful by external measures but struggling with meaning, purpose, or internal peace.
-
Healing without direction—you've processed past wounds but don't know where you're going or what you're building toward.
This isn't about choosing between depth work and forward movement. It's about recognizing that sometimes you need both at once. The emotional patterns need to shift AND you need practical support in building the life you actually want.
How Therapy + Coaching Works
I don't switch between "therapy mode" and "coaching mode." I work with both dimensions simultaneously—addressing what's blocking you internally while supporting you in moving forward externally.
On the therapy side, this looks like working with the insecurity, fear, or beliefs that keep you stuck. Using experiential methods to shift patterns at the nervous system level. Processing unresolved emotions or wounds that interfere with your ability to show up fully.
On the coaching side, this looks like clarifying what you actually want (not what you think you should want). Identifying concrete steps toward your goals. Building accountability and momentum. Working with practical obstacles—time, decision-making, follow-through, alignment between values and actions.
We move fluidly between these. Sometimes a session is mostly depth work because an emotional pattern is showing up that needs attention. Sometimes it's mostly forward-focused because you're ready to take action but need support strategizing or troubleshooting. Often it's both in the same session.
The methods I use—experiential therapy for shifting internal patterns, structured approaches for goal-setting and action, values work for alignment—give you both the internal shifts and the external momentum.
You won't just heal from the past or just achieve goals. You'll move forward with depth, purpose, and actual transformation underneath.
This Approach Works Best If:
✓ You've done therapy but struggle to take action on what you've learned
✓ You're achieving externally but struggling with internal patterns
✓ You want both emotional depth and practical forward movement
✓ You're ready to work on healing AND building what comes next
✓ You need support with both internal blocks and external goals
✓ You want alignment between your inner work and your actual life
This May Not Be Right If:
– You only want surface-level goal-setting without depth work
– You're not ready to address internal patterns that might be blocking you
– You want pure coaching without emotional exploration
– You're looking for quick tips
