About Me

I came to this work through my own experience.

I struggled with social anxiety, insecurity, and self-doubt for years, and I was intellectually oriented enough to understand all of it.

I could analyze my patterns, trace them back, recognize the logic behind them. The problem was I lived mostly in my head. Dissociated from my body and emotions in ways I didn't fully recognize at the time.

And none of that understanding moved anything. I still felt anxious. Still doubted myself. Still got stuck in the same responses.

That gap between knowing and feeling is what drove me toward this work.

I studied neuroscience and cognitive science at McGill because I wanted to understand how change actually happens at the level of the brain. What I found confirmed what I'd experienced personally: intellectual understanding and felt experience live in different parts of your system.

The beliefs and responses that actually drive your behavior don't care what you know consciously. They operate from somewhere deeper, in your nervous system and emotional memory. That's where the work needs to happen, and going there myself, into embodiment and direct experience rather than staying in analysis, was what actually shifted things for me.

The approaches I use now, AEDP, Coherence Therapy, IFS, somatic and embodiment work, all target that level. Not your thoughts about your experience. Your actual experience.

In sessions, I'm direct and fairly challenging. I care more about your growth than your comfort, though I do both. There's warmth and a lot of humor, but no softness that avoids the hard work.

Sessions are evocative. Emotional content comes up and we work with it in real time, not just talk about it. Things move when you engage at this level, often faster than people expect.

Outside the office I'm interested in consciousness, neuroscience, and stand-up comedy, which is essentially the art of communicating difficult truths in ways people can actually receive. I trail run, travel, and think about how people change. Mostly that last one.

That's what this work is about.
